Dr. Héctor E. López Sierra, the Academic Dean of the International Iberoamerican University (UNINI PR), offered a conference, “Palliative Care and Bereavement” this past May 23rd.
The lecture took place in the Campeche Ignacio García Téllez Theater (Mexico), where Dr. López brought forth the importance of emotions and spirituality in health care professionals toward terminally ill patients. He also described to said professionals the different therapies that cultural and psychosocial needs may cover for the sick and their families during the grieving process.
The Dean is also one of the main professors in UNINI PR, having a doctoral in Psychology and a postgraduate degrees in sociology, theology and critical neuroscience from the following institutions: University of Puerto Rico, McGill University in Montreal. Canada, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and an Evangelical Seminar from Puerto Rico respectively.
