The Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University) (UNIB) promotes the conference for the prevention of school bullying, together with the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia) (UNINCOL), and the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic) (UNEATLANTICO) promoting spaces free of harassment, both virtual and face-to-face.
The conference is planned for May 2nd, coinciding with the International Day Against Bullying, a perfect occasion to highlight the commitment to promote spaces that address prevention measures against the problems that afflict classrooms and digital spaces designed for training and coexistence.
Dr. Vanessa Yélamos coordinates the conference thanks to her hard work in the promotion of spaces free of bullying and cyberbullying. Dr. Yélamos was selected by the authorities of UNINCOL and UNEATLANTICO to raise awareness about this social phenomenon in the Congress of Prevention and Attention in Situations of Risk in Cyberbullying in Zacapa, Guatemala, and in a virtual conference on the prevention of bullying aimed to approximately 150 families of the school "La Salle" in Panama.
Dr. Yélamos is a university professor in several academic programs: Master in Conflict Resolution and Mediation, Master in Personal Coaching and Organizational Leadership, and Master in Early Childhood Care, all of which are degrees from the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (UNEATLANTICO), part of the educational network in which UNIB collaborates.
On the occasion of the First Conference for the Prevention of School Bullying and Cyberbullying, UNINCOL, from the University Welfarearea, has organized a discussion with Dr. Yélamos through its YouTube channel, free and open to the general public. The discussion is titled: Bullying and cyberbullying: Family intervention through the model of positive parenting. Those who are interested can participate by leaving their comments in the live chat offered by Youtube.

More activities
For its part, the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (UNEATLANTICO) will also carry out an activity to prevent and raise awareness about bullying. Thus, the University has proposed to organize a radio episode dedicated to the subject. The episode is titled: Let's talk about bullying and cyberbullying. The program will be broadcast live on UNEATLANTICO Radio. During the program, real stories collected anonymously from schools will be shared.

The Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (UNIB) highlights the importance of raising awareness in society about the problem of bullying, as it is a very serious issue for everyone, pointing to the revealing information from UNESCO, which has established that approximately 246 million children and adolescents could be victims of bullying in and around their educational institutions. In addition, there are currently a large number of children and adolescents who are victims of cyberbullying who, on many occasions, are unable to report the cyberbullying they have suffered to their parents or guardians.
